Strovent Terminal Terms of Use (End User License Agreement)

Effective: October 30, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Steward Oak Holdings LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as Strovent Systems ("Strovent," "we," "us"). They govern your use of Strovent Terminal and Strovent Terminal Enterprise for iPad, iPhone, Mac, Android and Windows (the "App"), the Strovent Terminal Enterprise license service and admin portal (the "Enterprise Service"), and the website at strovent.com. By downloading, installing or using the App or the Enterprise Service, you accept these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and "you" includes that organization.

1. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms and to the usage rules of the store you obtained it from. On Apple devices, the App Store Usage Rules apply, including use on Apple-branded products you own or control and use by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.

You may not: copy, modify or create derivative works of the App; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction; rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense it; remove proprietary notices; or circumvent licensing, entitlement or seat controls.

The App is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.

2. What the App does

Strovent Terminal is a terminal emulator. It connects from your device directly to host systems you configure using TN3270/TN3270E, TN5250, VT100/VT220 over Telnet or SSH, and related printing protocols. We do not operate, control or provide access to any host system. Availability of particular terminal types depends on the App version and your purchase.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

3.1 Free download and paid features

The App is free to download. Terminal access is unlocked by in-app purchase. Current US prices (local prices are shown in the store before you buy and may differ by country and currency, and include or exclude tax as the store displays):

Product Type Price (USD)
3270 Terminal (includes 3270 printing and VT) Auto-renewing yearly subscription $19.99 / year
5250 Terminal (includes 5250 printing and VT) Auto-renewing yearly subscription $19.99 / year
VT Terminal (VT100/VT220 over SSH and Telnet) Auto-renewing yearly subscription $9.99 / year
All Terminals (every terminal in the App, including ones added later) Auto-renewing yearly subscription $34.99 / year
All Terminals Lifetime One-time purchase, no renewal $79.99

Additional per-terminal subscriptions at $19.99 per year may be offered when new terminal types are released. No free trial or introductory offer is currently offered.

3.2 Payment and automatic renewal

All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are billed to your Apple Account or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for another one-year period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. If a price increases, Apple or Google will notify you as their rules require, and in some cases you must consent before the new price applies.

3.3 Cancellation

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from the App's Manage Subscriptions option, which opens those settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

3.4 Refunds

Apple and Google process all payments, so refund requests must be made to them under their policies: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google through Google Play order history or Google Play Help. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases directly. When a store refunds or revokes a purchase, the corresponding access is removed.

3.5 Overlapping purchases

VT is included with any paid 3270 or 5250 subscription, All Terminals and All Terminals Lifetime. If you hold a subscription that a later purchase already covers (for example, a per-terminal subscription after buying All Terminals Lifetime), the App will tell you, but only you can cancel the overlapping subscription through the store.

3.6 Family Sharing

On Apple platforms, subscriptions and All Terminals Lifetime are eligible for Family Sharing, so family members in your Family Sharing group can use them on their own devices. Access ends for them if you stop sharing, leave the group, or the purchase is refunded or expires. On Google Play, Family Library availability is determined by Google.

3.7 Restoring purchases

Use Restore Purchases in the App to re-apply purchases made with the same Apple Account or Google account on another device.

4. Strovent Terminal Enterprise

4.1 Enterprise license

Strovent Terminal Enterprise is a free download that operates only with a license issued to an organization ("Customer"). Seats, term, permitted terminal types, device limits and fees are set in an order form, quote or invoice between Customer and Strovent ("Order"). Enterprise fees are invoiced directly by Strovent and are not purchased through Apple or Google. If an Order conflicts with these Terms, the Order controls for the Enterprise Service.

4.2 Seats and devices

A seat is one named user. Each user may activate the App on up to the number of devices the Customer's administrator sets. Customer is responsible for its administrators, for who it invites, and for keeping seat counts within the Order. We may send notices to administrators when the seat limit is reached.

4.3 Admin portal and managed configuration

Customer administrators can invite and remove users, set email domains and single sign-on, push host connection profiles and settings to devices, and revoke devices. When a device is revoked, or when a user signs out, the App deletes the managed profiles and cached settings it received from the Enterprise Service at its next check-in. Customer is responsible for the configuration it pushes and for having the right to deploy it.

4.4 Customer data

Customer owns the data its administrators and users submit to the Enterprise Service. We use it only to provide, secure and support the Enterprise Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The audit log is append-only and cannot be edited or deleted by administrators.

4.5 Term, renewal and termination

The Enterprise license runs for the term in the Order. If the license expires or is terminated, devices stop receiving license renewals and the App stops connecting after the grace period configured for Customer (1 to 30 days). Either party may terminate for the other's material breach that remains uncured 30 days after written notice. Fees paid are non-refundable except as stated in the Order. Payment terms: invoices are due net 30 days from the invoice date.

4.6 Availability

We operate the Enterprise Service on third-party infrastructure and make reasonable efforts to keep it available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service unless an Order includes a service level.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the App only to connect to systems that you own or that you are authorized to access, and only within the scope of that authorization. You are responsible for complying with your organization's policies and with all laws that apply to the systems you access and the data you handle. You may not use the App or the Enterprise Service to:

Scripts and automation you create run under your control and your account on the host. You are responsible for what they do.

6. Your credentials and connection settings

Connection profiles, settings, scripts and SSH keys are stored on your device. You are responsible for securing your device and for the credentials you use. Options such as disabling certificate verification reduce security and are your choice.

7. Third-party services and hosts

The App interoperates with host systems, operating systems, app stores and identity providers that we do not control. Their terms and availability are their own, and we are not responsible for them.

8. Updates and changes

We may release updates that add, change or remove features. Some updates may be required to keep using the App or the Enterprise Service. We may change these Terms by posting a new version at strovent.com/terms with a new effective date. Changes do not alter the price or term of a subscription period you have already paid for. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP, THE ENTERPRISE SERVICE AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, WILL WORK WITH EVERY HOST, OR THAT DATA SENT TO OR RECEIVED FROM A HOST WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STROVENT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP, THE ENTERPRISE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR THE ENTERPRISE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Strovent against third-party claims arising from your use of the App to access systems without authorization, your violation of Section 5, or, for Customers, configuration and data you push through the Enterprise Service.

12. Termination

Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using and delete the App. Sections 1 (restrictions), 3.4, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14 survive.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

14. Apple-specific terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, the following also apply:

  1. Parties. These Terms are between you and Strovent only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Strovent, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  2. Scope of license. The license in Section 1 is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  3. Maintenance and support. Strovent is solely responsible for maintenance and support of the App, as described at strovent.com/support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
  4. Warranty. Strovent is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Strovent's responsibility.
  5. Product claims. Strovent, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
  6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Strovent, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the App: Steward Oak Holdings LLC dba Strovent Systems, 5900 Balcones Dr, STE 100, Austin, TX 78731, support@strovent.com.
  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App, such as your wireless data service agreement.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Google Play

If you obtained the App from Google Play, your purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play's refund policies. Google is not a party to these Terms.

16. General

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any Order are the entire agreement on their subject. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Notices to us go to support@strovent.com.
